A mimetic TV imitates broadcast television, constructing previously unseen video sequences. This talk will outline the simple statistical model used, and discuss an optimised implementation. Example output will be shown.

Douglas Bagnall is a Wellington artist who makes machines that make video.

The machine watches broadcast TV, analyses as a two-dimensional surface.

Previous Work - Filmmaking Robot

the eyes the of robot were riding on buses around wellington, while the body sat in a gallery. eyes would send images back as they came in contact with wireless nodes in Wellington. Robot would analyse image and create an ad-hoc 20 dimensional image space.

he's basically making machines and programs for mashing-up TV shows.
